This is the only Tony Buzan-sanctioned and supported programme for kids. Utilising the latest research on the mind by the inventor of the Mind Map, it will give participants the first-hand understanding and use of the Buzan Organic Study Technique (BOST™).
The method of instruction departs from normal instructor-led learning. Using the lecture-and-breakout system, the instructor’s role is basically that of introducing key ideas. Participants will then break into smaller learning groups to discuss and learn the lessons to greater depth. Groups are segregated by age with no more than 15 pax per group. Each group will be led by a trained youth leader (between 20-24 years of age) who will engage with them throughout the duration of the camp. Acting like big brother or sister, the youth leader will encourage everyone to participate. No one will drop through the cracks and lose out in the learning.
Friendly competition is also fostered during the camp. There will be an individual camp champion as well as a team champion. The champion will be the person who displays the best attitude to learning, application of the materials and performance in quizzes. The aim is to ensure that everyone will remember and use the materials taught in the camp. Attractive prizes await the champions.
There will also be outdoor learning journeys. Participants will make use of the different venues to further develop their Buzan skills. These visits will culminate in a group Mind Map of the key learning points.
For all of these activities, teamwork, leadership and camaraderie will be the important elements as all the participants strive to develop themselves.
Last but not least, students from other countries have been invited to participate. With them joining the camp, there will be added invaluable learning and relationship developments no other local programme can afford.
